Can beginners come to this class?
Absolutely. We designed this class with novices in mind. Each lesson starts with us demonstrating what you need to do. Then you will go to your lab table and your team will do the same thing under the guidance of one of our lab instructors. It's easy and fun!
Everything we teach is covered in our step-by-step student manual so you will have a reference to take home with you.
If you don't own a smoker, this is a great way to learn which models would be best suit your needs.
What types of meats do I learn?
We always cook the big four: brisket, ribs, pulled pork and chicken. We also always make sides and desserts but which recipes may change from class to class. We also add 3-6 special items. Past items have included, chicken wings, drumsticks, pork loin, turkey legs, thanksgiving turkey, and fish. We are open to requests so give us a shout before your class.
How much is class?
$199-$249. For an individual signing up alone it costs $249. Sign up with a friend or family member and we'll knock 20% off the total cost-- $199 per student.
How can i sign up?
What is your cancellation policy?
Full refund for a cancellation received at least ten days prior to the class date. Fifty percent refund for cancellations received two to nine days prior to the class date. No refund for cancellation the day before or day of, or a no-show.
How can I buy this for someone as a surprise? Do you have gift certificates?
Absolutely. Reserve a spot in their name here but give us your telephone and email. Be sure to mention it is a surprise. If you'd like a gift certificate include that in the message field with your address.
What do I get for my tuition?
Ten hours of hands on instruction where you will work shoulder-to-shoulder with us Pro's and learn to prepare a wide variety of BBQ dishes. Come hungry because we serve breakfast, lunch and a Dinner Banquet featuring the delicious BBQ you cooked. Don't forget to invite a guest of your choice to attend the Banquet. You also get a step-by-step BBQ manual with all our recipes, and an apron you can take home and wear with pride. After you graduate you can get on-going e-mail support from your instructors.
Who teaches the class?
Class is taught by Grand Champions with years of experience and the trophies to prove it. We also have assistants and a pit master watching over the smokers at all times.
What type of smoker should I buy?
That is really a matter of what you need and how much you want to spend. Our instructors are happy to advise you on the best value for what your needs.

Can I bring my own smoker to class?
Yes. But it may be more of a hassle than it is worth. We have a variety of smokers that are the same or similar to the ones you have at home.

If you want to sure! We'll throw it on a smoker!

Do you teach advanced classes for people who want to compete?
No, but our class will give you a solid foundation for competing, plus we will be glad to help you get started. We are also thinking about establishing a 'Que University backyard team for this purpose.
